A finely cast bronze statuette of the cat goddess Bastet from the Late Period. The goddess is depicted as a cat-headed woman holding a sistrum and aegis.

A long era of political division, Libyan and Nubian dynasties, Assyrian invasions, and the Saite Renaissance. Despite political turmoil, art maintained traditional forms while absorbing foreign influences.
