Khedivial Opera House
Description
The original Khedivial Opera House, inaugurated in 1869 to celebrate the opening of the Suez Canal. Built in a neo-Moorish style by Italian architects, it was the first opera house in Africa and the Middle East. The building was destroyed by fire in 1971.
