The Book of the Dead — Papyrus of Ani
Description
A finely illustrated papyrus containing spells, prayers, and instructions for navigating the afterlife. Dating to the 19th Dynasty, it is one of the most complete and beautifully executed examples of funerary literature. The papyrus measures over 23 meters in length.
About the New Kingdom (Empire Age)
Egypt's imperial zenith. The warrior pharaohs expanded borders from Nubia to the Euphrates. The Valley of the Kings was established, and art reached unprecedented heights.
